Do As The Locals Do

Since a lot of you guys are locals near one of our shops, we thought it would be fun to share the Fourth of July fireworks hot spots our staff recommends for each location. We want to see you “Live Outside…” a little!

Michaela, who works at our Periwinkle store on Sanibel Island, informed us that they will shoot off fireworks from a barge located by the Causeway, which will also be visible from the east end of the island. Also on the causeway you can see Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Ft. Myers Beach, and all the way up and down the coast depending on visibility. What a spectacular view!

In Foley, AL, Wade says, “Most people here go to Gulf Shores and watch them from the beach. They shoot them off at the end of the Gulf State Park Pier”.

Taylor says, “For Greenville, SC, Falls Park in downtown is the place to be!”, and according to the information that Bill gave us, downtown Greenville has a free Red, White and Blue event that features live music on two stages, with food and activities for the whole family.

For Commerce, GA, “The best fireworks in our area were done last weekend at the Atlanta Speedway. However, there is a Braves game on the 4th of July and they always do a big show after the game”. -Jessica

Fireworks explode over the Savannah River during the annual Independence Day celebration Thursday night.

Amanda Joy at our Savannah/Pooler, GA location says, “River Street on the Savannah River is the best place to celebrate the fourth! There are fireworks and the whole riverfront turns into a mini carnival”.

In Richmond, VA, “There is a place called Dogwood Dell, and it has been a Richmond tradition ever since I was a little girl to go and watch the fireworks there every year. There is live music and food trucks with all kinds of goodies. They shut the streets down leading up to it”. -Sandy

Just down the road from our Concord, NC store, the Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks show as well as Legend Cars and Bandoleros. “I love this place because family and friends get together, kids have fun and get excited when they see school buses race!” -Cecilia

In St. Louis, just minutes away from our Fairview Heights, IL location, “We have a celebration here every year called Fair Saint Louis. It’s usually held under the Arch, but this year and the past two are being held at Forest Park since the Arch grounds are under construction. Each night of July 2-4 is the largest fireworks display in the area with national live music acts, and it’s all free”. -Hunter

The Westgate entertainment district just outside of Phoenix, by our Glendale, AZ store, is a hot spot any day of the year, but it really “lights up” on the 4th of July. Thanks for the info, Tim!

Doug, at our Dawsonville, GA store says Cumming Fairgrounds is the place to be for fireworks.

In Myrtle Beach, SC, “The best spot for fireworks (and most popular) is at Broadway at the Beach, which is the main tourist attraction here in Myrtle Beach. It’s a large shopping & entertainment center that surrounds a huge man-made lake”.  -Chip

“In Birmingham, AL visible from our Hoover location, Thunder on The Mountain lights up the sky with a fireworks show that is visible for miles from Red Mountain. It’s the biggest fireworks show in Alabama. I love that you can tune in to the local radio station to listen to 4th of July themed songs and music.” -Erin
